Calendar Events
The calendar in Azzaria contains four seasons; the year beginning with winter, then moving on to spring, the summer and finally ending with autumn. Each season lasts for four months. The months do not have individual names, they are simply known as the First month, second month etc. i.e. First Month of Winter.
The Current year is 3026.
Seasons
Winter: Cold; snow, ice, frost, gales, blizzards.

Imperial Calendar
Beginning of the New Year: Celebrated on the 1st day of the 1st month of winter with balls, parties and family get togethers.
Emperor's Coronation: During the 2nd month of Spring the higher classes of Imperial society celebrate the day the Emperor was coroneted.
Mage Day: The full name of this holiday is 'Mage and Healer Day' but it is often referred to as simply 'Mage Day'. This is not a slight on healers, as both magic users are celebrated and thanked on this day. It takes place in the 3rd month of Summer.
Remembrance Day: In the 2nd month of Autumn Imperials spend a day remembering those they have lost.
Day of Courtships: In the 4th month of Spring large fetes are held as all of Daeria celebrate a day of love, freedom and desire. On this day many courtships begin, and marriage proposals are heard.
Celtic Calendar
Feast Day: In the 2nd month of Winter Celts celebrate the Feast Day, a day of remembering and giving thanks to the Gods. The day is marked with merry-making and a large feast. Priests and Priestesses bestow blessings and wear formal dress or costumes according to which God they follow.
Festival of Rebirth: This festival covers three days during the 1st month of Spring, with each day representing a different part of the Festival. The first day is dedicated to the beginning of Spring, the rebirth of the land. The second day is a celebration of birth and children, and gifts are bestowed upon the Gods Ruski and Clara. The final day is dedicated to celebrating those who have died, and thanks are giving to the God of Death, Fauken, for safely guiding the dead's souls to the after life. Each day is a celebration, with great feasts, games, and plays taking place.
Festival of Pairs: A day in the 3rd month of Spring where Celts give thanks for their partners, and look for love. The Celts remember the Gods Maeri and Halicon on this day.
Festival of Nature: In the 1st month of Summer Celts celebrate the world around them, giving thanks to the God of nature, Everor. The day is marked by the wearing of masks, and costumes of living creatures or parts of nature.
Festival of Change: This festival is not as spectacular as the other festivals of the Celtic Calendar. Celebrated in the 4th month of Autumn, it is a day for celebrating the year that has been with friends and family. Celts look back at the year, look forward to the new year and pray to the Goddess of weather, Bellana for a kind winter.
Elven Calendar
Day of Deep Sleep: This is the Elves day of Celebrating the new year, as they celebrate the incoming spring as nature returns from it's deep sleep during the winter months. It is celebrated on the last night of the 4th month of Winter with a large get together of Elves who then keep vigil over night until the dawn of the 1st day of Spring.
Day of Life: This is a holy day for the Elves in which they celebrate nature and give thanks to the deities and spirits of nature. There is a series of fetes and a large feast held on this day, ending with a commune with the spirits at the end of the day. It takes place in the 2nd month of Spring.
Day of Light: This day of frivolity is a celebration of the sun and the light it casts on the world. The Elves give praise to the Sun and Talisia the deity of weather and seasons. It takes place in the 1st month of Summer.
Day of New Leaves: As the leaves change colours and the weather cools, the Elves celebrate the change of year with a carnival on the last day of the 4th month of summer. It continues through the night and into the first day of the 1st month of Autumn.
Day of Flowers: On this day Elves celebrate relationships; romantic, friendship, family etc. by giving the gift of flowers to those they admire, love or want to thank. It takes place in the 2nd month of Autumn.
Protectors Calendar
Festival of the Elements: During the 1st month of Winter the Protectors hold a gathering around a bonfire at night. As a celebration of the new year and a tribute to the elements, four people are selected and each one performs either a song or a dance that reflects an element. To be chosen is considered to be a great honour to your Clan.
Fertility Festival: As the 4th month of Winter ends the Protectors celebrate a festival for fertility. Protectors travel to the place of their birth, and celebrate with their family and friends. Couples and families celebrate the festival and take part in festivities to bring fertility to their family. The Protectors who have not yet found a mate spend the festival trying to win the heart of those they are attracted to.
Festival of Balance: The Protectors believe in balance, that one thing can not exist without another. In the 3rd Month of Spring they spend a day remembering and celebrating the balance that exists in the world around them.
Festival of the Longest Day: In the 3rd month of summer the Protectors celebrate the longest day of the year by spending a day with their Clan. The Clan spends the day remembering their Clan's past, re-enacting famous battles and past events. The end of the day is marked by a large feast with traditional recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation.
Festival of Time: At the end of the 4th month of Autumn, the Protectors celebrate the end of the year and the start of a new one. Protectors spend the last week of the month travelling, visiting family and friends, before meeting up with their Clan. There is food, drink, dancing and general merry-making as they indulge before the winter arrives.
